I'm really excited for Piper's first birthday party this weekend! I decided that it might be fun to have a small family get together instead of a big party, and then send a cake and treats to daycare for all the kids to have a party with. Morgan's Auntie Maria was kind enough to offer to have the party at her place and well, she has helped me with alot of the preparation and planning so far. Its been lots of fun bouncing ideas off of Auntie Maria, Cousin Erin and Nana and I'm really excited to see how it all falls together.
We're plannning on having a fairy themed party in the garden. The plan was to dress the girls up as fairy's in little tutu's etc. I ordered two super cute tutu dresses online for them to wear only to get them and see that there's no way they will fit either of the girls. I was really bummed about it and called Morgan to tell him and what did he do?... On his way home from work he stopped and bought Piper this cute dress with pink roses on it. The sentiment behind the dress is more special than the thought of seeing them in tutus so thats the dress I'm going with. I bought Avrie a dress that matches Piper's so there voila- done.
We are driving to Lodi on Friday, Morgan is dropping me off at Maria's and we are going to finish all the preparation etc. I don't have any family of my own in California, Morgan's mom lives in New Jersey and his sister in LA. Its nice to know that his extended family has claimed me as one of their own and stands behind us a family. I wish that mine and Morgan's moms and siblings could be here to celebrate with us, but I know we will be thinking of them all day and just feel so fortunate to have his aunt, uncle, cousins and grandparents to celebrate with on this special day. Seems like Piper's time in this world is going by just as fast as she came into it, she was born within 25 minutes of getting to the hospital. It's funny how the days seem to creep by slowly and the years go by at warp speed. I'm starting to understand why my dad always told me to stop wishing my life away. For now, all I'm wishing for is for someone to finally invent that time machine cause time is slipping away to quickly!
